Train4Change -- Seahorse Triathlon 5k Playlist

I'm sitting here soaking my feet in Epsom's salts to sooth four blisters, one of which popped during my run and is now a very ouchy scab, and I thought it was the perfect time to do race recap. Then I realized that was quite a detailed process and I don't have the energy.

I did pull together my playlist to share, so here we go.

delightfully procrastinating

1.   People always tell me I look like someone they know from the next town over. Once I was told I looked like one of the characters from Castle, haven't figured out who. I asked Matt once, incase doppleganger week came back to faceybook and we were watching one of the HIMYM dg episodes, and he said I kind look like Abby Elliot from SNL. I'll take it.

 what do you think?

2.  Friends don't let friends take themselves too seriously.

3.  A sunny [warm] day is perfect for throwing open the windows and breathing the fresh air, a bit of yard work and cookout.

4.  My favorite accessory is the earring set Matt gave me for Chirstmas.

5.  If I could afford it I would pay a housecleaner, I can't keep up and it's just me and soon to be Matt.

6.  The cure for boredom is flipping on the tv or open the computer.

7.  I am currently "in like" with this moment, warm on the porch with sleeping kitties and still delightfully procrastinating the cleaning I need to get to and my stupid broken dryer duct in the basement.

You can't go wrong with a little Adele.

I've wanted to post something sweet or profound or just lovely all day, but nothing has struck me. So, I'm stealing something from my faceybook. You can't go wrong with a little Adele. Until yesterday I hadn't watched the video, I just let it play in the background. You need to watch, seriously.

dance.

I see photos of dancers, and I want to see them dance.

And sometimes I want to learn to dance.

 Awesome.

Chicago!

The last time I was in Chicago, I was in the midst of a fog that settled on me about a year ago this time that was lifting during that trip to Chicago to visit my bestie.

hi Kayleigh!
It was September and we hit Renegade.
And I came home with this wonderful la-lelaphant from SkunkBoy! Oh her new site, is SO pretty!!!

Here's Katie & Elsie wonderful booth. I was too shy to say "hi, i read your blog daily." But we did loiter for a quite awhile before I committed. They're all so sweet.
Look there I am on the side trying to use Elsie's iPhone to pay with PayPal for my la-lelie.

Well I'm headed back this weekend & So looking forward to it!!! I wonder how Matt will feel if I fall in love 87 times like on my last visit.

you know, a food centered post.

Sometimes I'm not sure what to eat... you know, that's healthy. Today Lifehacker posted the 20 best foods for brain power and energy.
We've previously featured eight foods you should eat every day for overall health — spinach, yogurt, tomatoes, carrots, blueberries, black beans, walnuts, and oats. With the exception of spinach, yogurt, and carrots, these foods are also great, specifically, for your brain.
For more choices to supercharge your brain and sustain you through the day, consider also: avocado, wild salmon, nuts, seeds, coffee, pomegranate, brown rice, tea, chocolate, oysters, olive oil, tuna, garlic, eggs, green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, and cacao nibs.

I can get down with these.  You know, except the beans, I don't like beans. But for reals, I need to stock up on some of these things for quick meals to throw together... avocado with green leafy vegetables, tomatoes and olive oil dressing. A good impromptu meal.

Speaking of food, did you see Emma's new pretty website? Do you think she'll really dye her hair blue before Elsie's wedding?! crazy. You know, maybe they're all dying their hair?!

You know, this is a food post and there no food pictures. Must remedy this now.

mmm. These are from about two months ago.

ONE: Tomato & Red Pepper Soup
TWO: Lemon, Sausage & Chard Lasagna
THREE: Pear & Prosciutto Pizza

Here's what I know, when I cook I need to take a deep breath before I start and make sure I'm ready. Making sure I'm ready includes reading through the recipe completely, bringing everything out of the cupboards, moving unneeded items off the counters, oh, and turning on some good music. Everything came out deliciously, but I notice a huge difference when I stopped and did the previous after burning my first batch of butter and flour.

You know, a little peek into my head. You know, this you know thing is kind of annoying. I'm not sure why I kept it up.

In just a minute...

I'm going to get moving again. I'm dogsitting this weekend and Gdog and I took a rest after a trip to the park. 2 hr walk = 2 hr break makes sense right?!

I was also busy creating this on Vista Print. Thanks to a Living Social deal I got $116 worth of Train4Change gear for $44.81, and I ordered extra.

next Valentine's day? one day? so pretty, the sparkly love.
i feel this way sometimes. but i think it's the best part of my personality. sure it's burned me in the past but it keeps my heart light. i know i have people who i will love for the rest of my moments that make these momentary loves, lovely but inconsequential.
TINY ELEPHANT!!!
these images have been sitting on my desktop for a while now, thought I'd share.
I have no idea what their original sources are.

how cool are we?!

Nearly Forgot

1.   What I love most about my home is the color and the light when the sun shines in. Who I share it with is a give-in.

2.  I'm excited because, it's Friday. On Sunday I had an Iced Cap late in the day and that caused me to stay up late. I only got six hours of sleep and I've been struggling ever since. So I'm looking forward to a good nights sleep and some productivity (as always) this weekend.
I just can't pass up a good iced Cap.

3.  My preferred method for blowing  off steam when I'm frustrated is ignore, veg out in front of the tv. I'm trying to be more of a take a walk and breath some fresh air girl though. Seems better.

4.  Currently I am craving the spaghetti I'm going to make for dinner tomorrow night and the Mother's day breakfast I'm making on Sunday am.

5.  The thing I love most about my mom is she follows her heart. And she's funny and she knows her shit. And she's pretty awesome.

6.  If I was going to write a book about my life, the title would probably be "Always look on the bright side" stolen from the Karine Dupont slogan I love.

7.  If I were to eat one thing for the rest of eternity it would probably be spaghetti, you can kind of get creative.

This is the official check in on my budget goals. I did ok. I went over my projected budget by $357.75, but only went over my earned income by $100 if I save 10% of my paycheck. [Which I should. Which I will.] While I didn't reach my goal, I went over by considerably less than the first three months. Here's the breakdown of what I spent my money on this month.

bills    50.84%
groceries    12.97%
self    10.91%
eating out    10.08%
gift    5.32%
home    3.04%
gas    1.91% (surprising?!)
fit    1.74%
kitties    1.56%

But here's the loop hole - I got paid three times this month. (!!!) Which means well really, nothing. I went over my budget goal, and because these we're a reward for not doing so there will be no sweet Tom's for me at this time. (It's not like I didn't buy clothes and books for myself this month...) Maybe next month I'll stay within my budget and be sportin' a pair of One for One's. I do however get to put a nice chunk of change into my savings and that feels good. It's been a long time since I've been able to write Xfer C>S in my budget tracker. I think keeping myself honest is the most important thing as I make my way in the budgeting world!

And because this was such a dull post Check out Kyla's beautiful front page of her new planner.

and guess what
